Description
The Education Attainment Summit is a pivotal event designed to foster connectivity within our educational community and provide a platform for every voice to be heard, especially those who are often voiceless. Our mission is to educate our community on the pathways from school to meaningful employment, ensuring that every individual has the knowledge and resources to achieve their career aspirations, as well as for supporting organizations and those recruiting talent in both the short and long term.
At the Summit, we will explore alternative pathways, such as certifications and job training, that offer viable and attainable career options.
Breakout Sessions:
- Career exposure and planning for middle and high schoolers - WBL, internships, apprenticeships, ACT, college awareness
- Postsecondary preparation - CCP, DPS/Durham Tech Partnership
- Postsecondary success - recruitment and retention efforts, student academic and non-academic supports
