Description
Join us for an Open House where prospective students and community members can learn about Durham Tech’s Guided Career Pathways, student support services, and a variety of student engagement and career opportunities. The event is open to the public and all are welcome!

9:00 a.m. Building, Engineering & Skilled Trades - Do you enjoy working with your hands? Come learn about our certificates and degrees to take your skills to the next level! (Location: Newton Building #4 - Room: Makerspace)
9:20 a.m. Engineering - Have you wanted to become a mechanical engineer, civil engineer, or computer engineer? If so, this information session is for you. Learn more about the courses you will take to get started on your path. (Location: Newton Building #4 - Room: Makerspace)
9:20 a.m. EMS Program - This session introduces a new career path opportunity and starts a pathway to an associate degree that could be continued to a four-year school. (Location: Wynn Center Building #10 - Room 114)
9:40 a.m. University Transfer - Are you interested in learning more about how community colleges courses can transfer to a four-year college? Do you want to participate in a guaranteed admissions opportunity? If so, this session is for you! (Location: Wynn Building #10 - Room 301)
10:00 a.m. Associates of Fine Arts (AFA) - In a thriving artistic community, the AFA offers students the opportunity to pursue career paths in the visual arts. (Location: Newton Building #4 - Room 118)
10:00 a.m. Information Technology (IT) - Information Technology: Have you wanted to learn more about cybersecurity, web of software development this information session is for you. IT skills are in high demand in today's job market. By attending the presentation, prospective students can learn about the potential careers in IT. (Location: Ingram Center Building #11 - Room 111)
10:00 a.m. Career & College Promise (CCP) - This session will inform students about how to enroll into our CCP program and will answer questions from students and families considering taking college courses in high school starting in Spring 2024. (Location: ERC Building #5 - Room 100)
10:20 a.m. Business & Entrepreneurship/Cosmetic Arts - Are you interested in owning your own business or scaling up your business? Have you always wanted to work or own a salon or become a skincare specialist? This information session can help you learn more about jump-starting your business or scaling up your cosmetic or entrepreneurship skills. (Location: Wynn Center Building #10 - Room 301)
10:40 a.m. Early Childhood Education & Teacher Prep - Do you enjoy working with children? Have you wanted to become an assistant director, director, or own your own daycare? Do you want to become a teacher in a public school? This session is for you! Come learn about our paths to becoming an elementary education, middle grades, or high school teacher or the path to owning your own daycare center. (Location: Building #8 - Room 116)
11:00 a.m. Health and Wellness - Health and Wellness programs study human biology, physiology, nutrition, psychology, management, communication, and teach medical care and support for health and emergency assistance. Come learning about anesthesia technology, medical assisting, nursing, opticianry, respiratory therapy, surgical technology, or clinical trials to name a few. You could even consider becoming a community health worker. (Location: Wynn Center Building #10 - Room 114)
11:20 a.m. Latinx Students and Families - Have questions about applying to Durham Tech or the programs we offer. This session is for you. This session will be held in Spanish (Location: Wynn Center Building #10 - Room 114)

Please feel free to park in any of our marked parking lots! The Open House will begin in Building #10; therefore, we recommend either Parking Lot F or Parking Lot K as they are the most convenient!
Yes, there is no cost associated with attending the Open House! We only ask that you please register in advance.
Absolutely! We will have several guided tours available during the Open House where prospective students and their guests will be able to visit different Durham Tech buildings and learn about the various resources they provide!
